ALEX ALLEN
LTA Level 4 Accredited +
Co-Head Coach & Director of Tennis (Performance Coach)
Alex brings over 19 years of coaching experience to Court18 Tennis. He began his journey as a performance junior and junior assistant coach at Caversham LTC before moving into full-time coaching. Over the next six years, he became a key member of the team at Wargrave LTC, working closely with the Head Professional to deliver a thriving coaching programme.

In 2012, Alex joined Gerrards Cross LTC, where he has enjoyed more than 13 rewarding yearsat the club. The first six were spent with Tennace, where he developed his expertise as a performance coach. Over the past seven years, he has been instrumental in building Court18 Tennis into the successful and forward-thinking coaching provider it is today. Alex is passionate about coaching players of all ages and abilities, with a particular strength in developing junior performance players and helping them reach their full potential helping many to perform in County and National competitions.
Fun facts & interests... Outside of tennis, Alex enjoys both watching and playing football and is a dedicated Chelsea supporter. He’s never had a cup of tea or coffee in his life!

DAN SHEPHERD

Co-Head Coach & Director of Tennis (Performance Coach)
Dan has been coaching for 18 years, having started his coaching journey in Richmond. Over the years, Dan has worked with players across all ages and abilities, helping many reach county and national performance levels. Developing players’ technical ability, mindset, and love for the game has always been at the heart of his coaching philosophy.
Fun facts & interests... Outside of tennis, Dan enjoys Hyrox training, competitive skiing, and keeping active. He is also passionate about growth mindset and personal development, and regularly reads books on self-improvement, coaching, and nutrition.

MATT CLARK
LTA Level 3 Accredited +
Programme Manager (Development, Performance & One-to-One Coach)
Matt has been part of Court18 Tennis since its launch in 2018, having contributed across two separate spells with the team. During a year abroad, he further developed his experience as both Programme Manager and Facility Manager at the David Warner Retreat. Matt enjoys coaching players of all ages and standards, though he finds particular satisfaction in developing performance players — many of whom have gone on to compete successfully at county level. He also has a strong passion for adult and ladies’ coaching, creating positive and engaging sessions for all participants.
Fun facts & interests... Outside of coaching, Matt is a keen Hyrox competitor and takes pride in maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. Nutrition and fitness are key focuses for him, and he’s always looking for new ways to challenge himself. Away from the court and the gym, Matt is a dedicated Manchester United fan.

FINLAY BARRETT

Club Coach, 1-2-1 and groups, performance tennis, adult team coaching, Director of Junior tournaments and match tracking
Fin has been a full time coach for over 6 years, working at 3 main venues. He has been at Gerrards Cross Lawn Tennis Club for more than 4 years, starting in 2021. In this time Fin has developed his coaching to work with players of all ages and standards. He is dedicated to helping players learn the game and improve their competitive records. For the last two years Fin has taken a lead role in organising the GX Junior Club Championship Tournament, plus co-ordinating the LTA National League as well as being Director of Junior Tournaments and Match Tracking for Court18. He has also been involved with Bucks county tennis for over 5 years as an assistant coach. He have been invited and am looking forward to attending some of the regional camps for the south-east of England.
Fun facts & interests... I still love to play the game! Competing for our NCL and NPL leagues, also entering into our adult club championship tournament. Learning and competing at golf and Pickleball events.

JUDE DIXON
LTA Level 2 Accredited
Club Coach, C18 Academy Coach, Adult
and Junior development coach, 1-2-1's
Jude got into tennis coaching after working under a few Level 5 Master Performance Coaches and a number of Level 4 Senior Performance Coaches. With this passion, he started his coaching career in Yorkshire, basing himself at a few local clubs and David Lloyd in York. Since then, he has trained under a couple of ATP Tour coaches including the Egyptian Davis Cup Captain. After completion of his level 2 coaching certificate at Leeds Beckett University, he joined Court18 in May 2025 where he has continued his learning by attending the level 3 course at Loughborough University in which he is in the final stages of completing. Jude has hit the ground running and has really enjoyed being a part of the club, coaching all different ages and standards. He is really driven to help improve players, especially those who are competing or looking to compete.
Fun facts & interests... I had scholarship offers to play Division 1 College Tennis in the States but chose to focus on my own playing career. I compete on the ITF World Tennis Tour, playing in professional events all over the world. In my free time I enjoy watching my favourite football team Leeds United, sending time with my family and learning the southern dialect!

DEXTER DALSTON

Club coach, 1-2-1, groups, adult teams, performance tennis and camps
Dexter has been a coach at GXBL for over 5 years, working his way through the stages of becoming a full time coach. He has had 4 and a half years of being a part time assistant coach being mentored and trained by everybody in the team. Which has helped him become a fully qualified coach now has been working full time for the past 7 months, during this period he has developed even more skills coaches need which is helping him build up his weekly schedule.
Fun facts & interests... Outside of tennis, I still enjoy playing other sports such as football and pickleball which I try to play as much as I can!

CHRIS CLARKE

Performance Tennis & Adult Match Practice Coach
Chris brings a wealth of experience from both his playing and coaching careers. As a former professional player, he achieved a world ranking of 715 before transitioning into coaching. Over the years, Chris has worked at a range of tennis and racket clubs, developing players across various levels, from junior development through to advanced performance standards. His coaching style and personable approach enable him to connect with players of all ages and abilities, helping them to improve their game while enjoying the process. He continues to coach a strong mix of performance players, ladies’ and men’s match players, and developing juniors. His passion for the game and his ability to inspire others make him a valued member of the Court18 team.
Fun facts & interests... Chris still enjoys competing and has represented the prestigious Gerrards Cross Lawn Tennis Club both nationally and internationally. Chris has also spent many years travelling the world as a personal coach to Sir Elton John, an experience that has broadened his knowledge and perspective within the sport.

GEORGE WELLER
LTA level 3 Accredited +
Club Coach, 1-2-1 sessions, private group sessions, mid-week ladies practice & tournaments
George has worked full time in Tennis/Padel for 13 years working previously at Stoke Park. He works with the mid-week ladies team players and organises weekly match practice sessions and monthly mid-week ladies fun tournaments. George has a passion for developing players and getting the best out of everyone's different styles whilst sticking to a methodology which he has worked on for a number of years, based around the mid-week ladies leagues. Growing the community of ladies at the Tennis club has been a goal of his since joining the club, which now has 5 Ladies Teams and a Gateway squad. George also works coaching Padel Tennis for performance players and club level players and has recently had 2 of his players represent GB Ladies at the European Championships and 4 of his Junior players represent GB at the World Cup.
Fun facts & interests... After 3 heart procedures post winning the Nationals for football at U19, George has been competing in Padel for the last 5 years and has been ranked within the top 10 for the last 4 years and also has represented GB against America - and won his first Grade 1 Padel tournament in London. George competed in the National Club Finals for Table Tennis at U10's and reached #11 in the UK.

DAVE SELLERS

Adult Performance & Match Play Coach
Dave is an experienced coach who specialises in working with adult players, focusing primarily on match play and performance-level tennis. He provides one-to-one coaching for advanced players and supports club players who are looking to develop their tactical awareness, consistency, and competitiveness. With his extensive playing background and strong understanding of the game, Dave brings both technical precision and a competitive edge to his coaching sessions, helping players reach their full potential on court.
Fun facts & interests... A highly accomplished player himself, Dave has won the GXLTC Club Championships multiple times and has competed nationally and internationally for Gerrards Cross Lawn Tennis Club. Away from tennis, he enjoys staying active through other sports, including football and padel.

CARINA GEORGA
Office Manager
Carina has been a key part of the Court18 Tennis team since 2021. As Office Manager, she oversees all administration across the programme, including bookings, scheduling, and day-to-day communication with players, parents, and new enquiries. Carina is often the first point of contact for anyone looking to join Court18, learn more about upcoming sessions, or sign up for squad programmes, holiday camps, or private lessons. Her organisation, efficiency, and friendly approach help the programme run smoothly and ensure members receive clear information and support at every stage.
Fun facts & interests... Outside of work, Carina enjoys staying active and regularly takes part in park runs at the weekend with her son.
